On-Site Tournament coordinator job description

Traction Sports Performance and Perfect Game Louisiana are in need of multiple On-Site Tournament Directors for our upcoming Spring + Summer Season.

Position Summary:
The On-Site Coordinator is the point person at each of our parks during Perfect Game Louisiana Tournaments. This person must be reliable and represent Traction and Perfect Game in a professional manor. Reporting to the Tournament Director, you will be their eyes and ears on tournament weekends in either our Baton Rouge or Central ballparks. You are responsible for setting up/opening the park, managing game-day staff including umpires, field directors (score keepers) and gate/entrance staff. Must also work closely with other game-day operation department managers (Umpire Crew Chief, Concessions Manager, Field Director Manager and Gate Manager). Must have knowledge of all Perfect Game rules and be comfortable being called to fields to settle any rule disputes. Experience as a field director, umpire or former baseball/softball player preferred.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Successfully coordinate all facets of operations for tournament, event, and all other programming at a host facility to create the best guest experience for players, coaches, and families

• Set up/break down of facility including, but not limited to, tents, tables/chairs, signage and flags.

• Manage game day staff by assisting the appropriate department manager in confirming all staff has shown up. Ability to step in position if needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Friendly, outgoing and personable

• Knowledge of baseball/softball

• Reliable and punctual: arrive at the ballpark no later than two hours prior to the first game scheduled start time (dependent on park set-up)

• Dress properly – we will provide you with a Perfect Game Shirt. Please dress appropriately for the elements.

• Act respectful and professionally

• Ability to withstand the outdoor elements for spring, summer and fall; including rain or extreme heat

• Ability to work weekends
